Gemini [archival audio]: Basic body-weight exercises, squats, stand with feet shoulder-width apart, lower your hips as if sitting in a chair, keep your back straight and chest up. Go as low as you comfortably can.
Michael Calor: Lunges for each leg, three sets of 10, planks, three sets held for 30 to 60 seconds, which is torture. Glute bridge, three sets of 15 reps. And then it talks about progressive overload and it talks about rest days and all that stuff, which is great. And then I was like, “Well, I don’t know how to lunge. Can you show me how to lunge?” And it presented me with a bunch of videos, five videos.
Lauren Goode: YouTube, possibly?
Michael Calor: Yes, they were YouTube videos. The two links were exactly the same, but I watched all the videos and I was like, “Okay, I think I can do the lunge now.” And I did a lunge and I didn’t hurt myself, and I felt so I think that’s great.
Lauren Goode: It’s really, really good.
Michael Calor: yes The only strange thing about this is that I did a google search and found the exact same information in a few different places. And other than the video, I don’t know where Gemini got this information. I don’t even know where these recipes came from. It was all just presented to me as, “That’s what Gemini says.”
Lauren Goode: No source.
Michael Calor: No source. And I tapped into everything, and I didn’t see any good sourcing.
Lauren Goode: And humans probably put together those exercise plans or wrote those recipes. And it was published and sorry, but endless bits of your data are now being chopped up and added to some recipe, and you have no idea where it came from.
Michael Calor: Julienand
Lauren Goode: That’s right.
Zoe Schiffer: OK, so will you stick with it? Are you going to continue using it for this purpose, or did it feel like a one-and-done experiment?
Michael Calor: Honestly, the exercise regimen, it’s pretty solid. I will keep doing it.
Lauren Goode: nice
Michael Calor: And as for recipes, I have so many cookbooks and so many years of experience cooking for myself that I have absolutely no need to make this quinoa salad again, Lauren, unless you want me to. Let me make and give you something. of this
Lauren Goode: I’ve had other meals you’ve made, and I think I’ll suggest them next time.
Zoe Schiffer: So diplomatic.
Michael Calor: OK, great.
Lauren Goode: But thank you, appreciate you.
Michael Calor: So I have to say that, for me, as someone who understands myself and understands my own needs, it really wasn’t that big of a help. The exercise was good. I could have found that without the Gemini 2.O, but if someone who is new to it or someone who has a lot of questions, or if someone is considering making these kinds of lifestyle changes, it’s really helpful. has given some good advice.
