It seems so Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff BezosAnd Elon Musk Tech CEOs won’t be the only ones attending President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on Monday. Accordingly The New York TimesShou Chew, CEO of TikTokwill also be present.

It’s unclear what this restriction will look like, but we do know that while your phone can’t self-combust after you open TikTok, it won’t work as you use it. App stores and internet hosting companies like Apple and Google will be fined by the government if they distribute or update the app, and anonymous sources on TikTok told Reuters That US users will face a pop-up message that will take them to a website with information about the ban starting Sunday, until the Supreme Court steps in.

The time reported that the invitation to the executive to attend the inauguration came from the Trump Vance Inauguration Committee. This represents a stark reversal in Trump’s approach to TikTok. In 2020, Trump tried to ban the app through an executive orderwhich was not glued. Now, he appears to support the app. He met with TikTok executives at Mar-a-Lago in Florida in December, and during his campaign, he announced, “I’m going to save TikTok.”
