A screenshot that It seems to suggest Billionaire Elon Musk superfan cosplaying “Adrien Dittman” — showing X account permissions beyond a normal user — is almost certainly fake, an X source said. Verge.
The source, who claims to have no knowledge of Dittman’s identity, says the image posted on 4chan’s /pol/ board does not represent the actual interface available to people working for X. The screenshot was posted by a user who identifies himself as Adrian Dittman, showing a post from Musk’s X page. In that screenshot, the X interface includes non-standard links to an “Admin Portal” and a “Ban” page, indicating that the user has special rights to the site. But the source says none of these options are for X employees to log into their accounts. In fact, X employees will see the same interface as other users, with the possible exception of new features currently being tested for wider release.
This suggests that other elements of the screenshot, such as an analytics link that appears only to the author of a post, were also intentionally created as hints that Musk is secretly Dittman. The signs were picked up overnight, where they spread across social media alongside other posts made by 4chan users — mostly those praising Musk and defending his X policies. Battle with other conservatives over immigration.
It is not clear who posted the screenshots. “Adrian Dittman” is a longtime X user, and his Musk fandom and vocal similarities have long led to rumors that he is secretly none other than Musk. Consumer Mags Taylor Lorenz has noted that Dittman benefits greatly from speculation that he is Musk, and it is possible that the doctored screenshots Dittman are leaning towards. The 4chan posts could also be from an unrelated impersonator, however, playing into the idea of Musk as a restless forum poster. (I guess we can’t rule out that Musk, imitating Dittman, added fake elements to the original screenshot of his X account? But I’m ranking that theory low on the list.)
