Apple Music — which sponsors the gig — dropped the news on Thursday, announcing that the 4x Grammy Award winner will join K. Dot in NOLA on Feb. 9.
The platform also shared a new teaser for the show, which shows Kendrick on the phone discussing the possibility of adding someone to his set list… when SZA walks up behind him and spills blue liquid everywhere. Dumps a jug full of “Not like us. “MC.
The partnership makes sense … not only are they both top dog artists, they also have several songs — most recently “Luther” and “Gloria” on Lamar’s “GNX” album.
Performing SB is a pretty big deal… considering the sport draws a massive audience worldwide, year after year.
Other artists who have gained recognition in recent years include usher, the weekendAnd Lady Gaga … as well as icons Michael Jackson And Mr Back in the day.
Of course, the choice to go with Lamar was somewhat polarizing, viz Lil Wayne — who is from New Orleans — thought he deserved the slot.
