seeing is believing
When the box is set up for the first time, you get a free trial of Premium PetKit Care+, which lets you see playback in full while your cat is using it (without it, you only see your pet’s (can see pictures at the time of giving). The free trial of the premium plan lasts for 30 days from setup, and there are three tiers of subscription plans, Starting at $4 per month for Basic and going up to $12 per month for Premium+. With Premium Version Playback, you can literally see how the metaphorical sausage is made inside the box, as it records your cat using the litter box, followed by a recording of the litter falling out. Because the stool is separated. Clean the litter and put it in the airtight bag below. After the stool is shown, there is a chart with a diagram showing normal versus abnormal stool so you can identify any changes or abnormalities (one of the most effective ways to monitor your cat’s health. ). While this is a good idea in theory, the videos are not high-def and were always in black-and-white, which made it very difficult to actually see anything (I often found myself saying, “Yes, it’s a small gray figure, a small cat turd”).
One of my cats is a huge 20-pound gray tabby and the other is a super fluffy 12-pound calico. When I had PetKit Care+ on trial, it correctly identified cats about 75 percent of the time, but once it expired, it never recognized which cat it was that looked completely different. I could not recognize myself.
Pack it up
The litter box can use many types of litter, including clay and tofu, but has different grates to separate the litter to ensure it separates properly. The 10L waste bin lasts up to 20 days with a single cat, and is located at the very back of the device. Like other PetKit litter boxes I’ve tested, the proprietary odor eliminator ($20 for three refills) and sealed garbage bags. When the trash is full of waste, you open the trunk lid, take out the dirty bag, replace it with a clean bag, and clip in the refill ring cover to make sure it’s right. Stay in place. One of the reasons the back trunk end is so spacious is the auto-packing system. It lifts up during operation, and when the bag is full, it has auto-packing, auto-sealing, and auto-bagging. Then, when the sealed trash bag is ready, the user needs to remove it (you need to do this manually with buttons on the device, and be present to take it out and refill it). Because of this packing system, you’ll need PetKit’s special refill rings and trash bags (Three for $35). Although the Smart Box shows pictures of the stool, they are not very detailed, so I would still recommend checking the stool yourself to make sure nothing is wrong.
