Luigi Mangione‘s newly appointed defense attorney is speaking to reporters Tuesday afternoon … and we’re streaming it live.
attorney Tom Dickey said he has been retained to represent Mangione, and answered questions from reporters at his Altoona, Pennsylvania office Tuesday afternoon. He said he believes Mangione should have been granted bail … and stressed that Mangione did not waive his extradition in a court appearance today.
“I haven’t seen any evidence” that Mangione is the shooter, Dickey said. “He’s not guilty, that’s all I care about.”
Dickey said he came on the case “shortly before today’s hearing” — it’s unclear whether he was appointed or hired by the court. Asked if he could say who hired him, he said, “No… I can, but I won’t.”
