Accused UnitedHealthcare CEO killer Luigi Mangione went ballistic outside a Pennsylvania court this week because he was “irritated” at not having legal representation at the time, according to his lawyer.
Attorney Thomas Dickey sat down for an interview Wednesday night with CNN host Erin Burnett and led police into the Blair County, PA, courthouse for his extradition hearing the day before Mangione yelled at the media in a shocking moment. Set the record straight. .
Clad in an orange jumpsuit with his hands cuffed behind him, Mangione shouted a cryptic message to reporters about being “completely out of touch and insulting to the intelligence of the American people and their lived experience”!

During his CNN interview, Dickey cleared up the confusion, telling Burnett that Mangione was “irritated” and “furious” about being convicted of murder and other serious crimes.
As you know, Mangione is accused of fatally shooting UHC CEO Brian Thompson on a Manhattan street last week because of his alleged beef with the health care system.
Dickey also said Mangione did not have legal representation until he arrived in court for his Tuesday hearing.
After appearing in court, Mangione’s demeanor changed as he retained Dickey, who would fight for his rights, the attorney said. Dickey cited video showing the alleged killer looking calm as he walked out of the courtroom surrounded by police.
During the hearing, Mangione refused extradition to NYC to face multiple charges, including murder. So, for now, Mangione will be held without bail in a Pennsylvania detention facility as prosecutors and the defense engage in a legal battle to return him to New York.
