New England Patriots safety Gabriel pepper appeared in a Massachusetts court on Thursday and pleaded guilty to one count of possession of cocaine.
The 29-year-old – dressed in a blue suit and white shirt – admitted to a judge that the powdered substance found in his wallet after his arrest for domestic violence in October was an illegal drug.
The soccer player was ordered to stay drug-free and stay out of trouble for the next four months after pleading his case.
Pepper still faces three other charges related to the arrest — including strangulation and assault and battery — as authorities say he Annoyed his girlfriend During the morning debate on October 5.
Police say the woman told them that Pepper slammed her head against a wall and choked her during the incident. Peppers, however, is adamant he did nothing wrong … and his attorney claims they have videos that help prove his innocence.
The trial in the case — which was postponed from Wednesday after an unexpected water main break in the courthouse — is scheduled to begin later Thursday … with jury selection beginning in a few minutes.
