Noah Scurry — a high school basketball star in Pennsylvania — tragically died this week when he was shot just steps from his home.
The Philadelphia Police Department said the fatal shooting happened around 7:15 a.m. Tuesday … revealing that Scurry was walking to Samuel Fales High School when he was shot.
He was only 17 years old.
The motive behind the shooting is not yet known… Officials say the incident is under investigation.
“No arrests have been made,” PPD said, and no weapons have been recovered.
Scurry was a senior at Samuel Fales HS … and a captain on the boys basketball team. According to his cousin Brenna McGlynnHe was being recruited by colleges.
Panthers games for this week have been canceled in light of his death.

SFHS Principal Melissa Rasper A statement Tuesday said Scurry wasn’t just a talented basketball player … he recently earned the highest SAT scores at the school.
“Our deepest condolences and thoughts go out to the family and friends of this student,” he said.
A GoFundMe Scurry’s family has been set up to assist with funeral expenses.
