Dennis QuaidDefinitely cool under pressure… stopping to talk to a reporter while evacuating his Los Angeles home in the middle of a fire — and dropping some knowledge for fellow residents.
The actor was leaving his home in Brentwood overnight when the Pacific Palisades wildfire shifted with wind and began moving toward the affluent LA neighborhood.
This conversation between a reporter from NBC 4 Los Angeles and Dennis Quaid.

The reporter — works for the local NBC outlet — cracks a joke … saying that Dennis is trying to perform a miracle — putting two 17-year-old girls’ laundry baskets in his Mercedes.
Watch the clip … Dennis is clearly laughing at the joke — and, when he says the power’s out, a reporter jumps in to correct him. Dennis replies that they turned it off on purpose to prevent downed powerlines from contributing to the fire.
Dennis then encourages people to turn off their gas lines when leaving their homes … in hopes of slowing down the diester.
“Our experience of reality can change in an instant.”

Quaid keeps it light throughout it all … despite the terrifying situation on the ground in West LA – however, he gets even more emotional later in the conversation.
The Palisades Fire has consumed more than 22K acres this week … the largest of several fires raging in LA is currently only 11% contained — and, thousands of people have been forced to evacuate.
Dennis Quaid is one of them … and, hopefully, his advice will reach others beyond the field.
