Chris Brown Investigations is suing the producers behind Discovery’s “Chris Brown: A History of Violence” docs … alleging the project was filled with outright lies.
In new court documents obtained by TMZ … the singer accuses Warner Bros. Discovery, Ample, and others of being behind a series of promoting and publishing defamation claims against him — even though the alleged Despite being provided with “proof” that their account was false.
Not only has Brown repeatedly vilified Jane Doe at the center of the documentaries, but he points out that he has never been convicted of “any sex crime” … calling him “a Condemning the docs for labeling him a “serial rapist and a sexual abuser.”
He claims they based the documents largely on a lawsuit brought against him by Jane Doe … she later withdrew the lawsuit because it was full of lies.
Brown says the producers and Jane Doe chose to ignore the facts to discredit her and her reputation … which she says has taken more than a decade to repair.
The singer claims he has taken responsibility for his “past mistakes” – including physically assaulting an ex-girlfriend rihanna – and has grown out of them … and slams the ‘History of Violence’ makers for pushing an old narrative in the name of fame and fortune.
Brown says he was directly affected by the documentary … because it took a toll on his reputation, career and business opportunities. So, he’s seeking $500 million in damages … which if awarded he plans to partially donate to victims of sexual assault.
We’ve reached out to Ample and Warner Bros. Discovery for comment … so far, no word back.
