The suspected hiker who gave some strange answers to a concerned Topanga resident was questioned by police and arrested … at least according to the man who confronted him.

We tracked down the Topanga man who recorded his conversation with the hiker and he joined us on “TMZ Live” Wednesday … telling us the guy stuck out like a sore thumb and a ton of red flags. have raised
The resident says his community is very tight-knit, so they know everyone … and this guy was clearly not local.
The hiker was on a fire road and carrying a backpack, which set off alarm bells for the resident … as the conflict eased in the first few days of the Palisades Fire, which burned parts of Malibu and Topanga. Parts were destroyed.
When the walker said without thinking There was no lighter fluid At that, the resident became even more suspicious … and he says he sent the boy in the direction of some firefighters who he hoped could pick the boy up.
It looks like law enforcement has finally caught up with the hiker … We know the county sheriff’s department saw the video, and the resident says she was told the hiker was arrested and questioned by police. was done

Those fires included arson concerns and residents say there were too many red flags to ask questions about.
He also tells us there wasn’t a physical confrontation when he got off the phone … and he’s glad his kids were with him, otherwise it could have gotten ugly.
