A star of a Disney Channel show says he is being harassed at his new job, Sling Ice Cream, because of his previous arrest and conviction for communicating with a minor online.
Stoney Westmorelandwho played the grandfather on “Andy Mack,” ran to court to get a restraining order against a former neighbor who shows up at the Cold Stone Creamery where Westmoreland works.
In the documents, Westmoreland says the man lied about him to the store’s owner and manager, blamed Cold Stone customers and told them he was a “child rapist.” He says he feels intimidated by the man’s actions, which happened around the holidays.
Westmoreland says the man showed up at the ice cream shop and an adjacent business on Dec. 21, 22, 26 and 27 — and warned people about an “unregistered child sex offender” working at the store.
He says the man is “lying about me and my legal history” — though, it’s unclear from the documents what part Westmoreland believes is a lie.
As we reported, he was arrested in 2018 and charged in Utah with luring a minor over the Internet. Prosecutors said he arranged to have sex with someone he met online and is believed to be 13 years old.
He eventually pleaded guilty to a lesser charge, and c 2 years sentence in prison. He’s now out and working in LA, but says he fears his alleged harasser will turn violent — he claims the man “shakes” when he shows up at the store. is like a pouncer”.
Westmoreland is requesting a temporary restraining order that would require the man to stay 50 yards away from his home and job, and cease all contact or harassment of Westmoreland.
The judge ordered the TRO. granted, and set a February hearing for both sides to make their case.
