Jason tells TMZ … he’s inspired to bring attention to the fundraising needs of these key first responders. He called the California High-Speed Rail System … a planned bullet train to connect Los Angeles to San Francisco. The proposal was first passed in 2008 … but the project is still technically underway — and predicted to go over budget.
For example, state officials explained in March 2024 that building a wire between Bakersfield and Merced would cost about $35 billion.
As Jason sees it … this money could instead fully fund the LAFD and LAPD, easily doubling their own budgets for decades. More money means more drones and helicopters, which have been critical to firefighting and rescue operations during the 2025 disaster.
Jason highlighted how the city has had to borrow helicopters from other states, Canada and Mexico during this ordeal … moving forward the city will be in a much better position in the future with the dough to invest in proactive measures.
To say things are tense here in the City of Angels is an understatement.
