Celebrity restaurants are quite the rage among food lovers and social media users not only because of the fame of their owners but also because of the mind-blowing prices.
A social media user recently called out Virat Kohli-owned One8 Commune for selling sub-par food at exorbitant prices. The user shared a picture of a corn starter in a very small quantity and wrote on X: “Paid 525 rupees for this today at One8 Commune (sic).”
The social media post has divided internet users, with some users questioning why he ordered the food. Others, however, agreed with the user and said that the starter actually looks underwhelming considering the price point.
One user wrote: “Queen kia order! Menu main hota hai na”. “Officially, you’re rich,” said another user. “You knew this before you ordered it, so stop whining,” a third user commented.
“You paid for the “community” created by One8 🙂 ~ the people hanging around, the music, the vibe … comes from high rent, above average staff pay, etc etc etc,” explained one user.
“The 6th stump looks like lettuce,” said one user. “Fancy Bhutta (sic),” said another user.
“Bhai NGL doesn’t look too tempting either,” commented another user. “I didn’t like this place. First, they have a problem with the slippers (birkenstocks). Second, we had very little of each dish. The price did not justify the product,” wrote another user.
Sneha, however, was not the only user to share her complaint with One8 Commune. Another user, Sumukh Rao, criticized the restaurant for not letting him in because he was wearing sandals.
He added that the restaurant had no physical menu, while most of the food they ordered tasted similar to what was available in most pubs.
“The food is on par with most pubs. The hummus was good. The jackfruit tacos were literally tortillas with jackfruit chips on top. Terrible. The mushroom dimsums were good, and the pizza was good. But I’ve had better food. Even at lower prices they don’t have vegetarian options.
