Bob Brier — Dummer for My Chemical Romance from 2004 to 2014 — has died … TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … Brier was found dead in his Tennessee home on Tuesday after he was last seen alive on Nov. 4.
We’re told no foul play is suspected, as all of Briar’s weapons and musical instruments in the house were left untouched.
Animal control came to the house after the body — which we’re told was badly burned — was found and the two dogs were taken away. The medical examiner is investigating Briar’s cause and manner of death.
Bryer first met the My Chemical Romance crew when they were on tour with The Used in 2004 … and was officially converted. Matt Pellissier Shortly after they released their album “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge”.
Bryer played drums on the 2006 album “The Black Parade” — perhaps the group’s best-known record — and wrote the lyrics for the group’s 2010 entry “Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys.”
However, prior to the release of ‘Danger Days’, Briar left the group … working with other bands over the next few years before announcing that he was transitioning from the music industry to real estate.
In 2020, he appeared in a memoir and wrote about it Late rush drummer, Neil Peart … talking about his childhood crush and subsequent friendship with Dholki.
In the years since leaving the group, Briar has admitted to having experienced suicidal thoughts several times since leaving MCR.
While My Chemical Romance is scheduled to go on tour next year, Bob was not part of the group returning to play. To this day, he is the longest-tenured drummer in the band’s history.
Briar was 44 years old.
